The Climb
Written for "EXPRESS IT IN EIGHT Open in new Window., topic: Image of stairs (I've been fighting myself to return to active writing, this photo brought to mind my hesitance and why)

Before me stands a cold gray stair
And I wonder in silence as I star
What lies above, hope or despair?

I long to see, and I know I must.
It may be fortune or I may go bust.
My legs are stiff like a thing of rust.

So, I turn my back and I walk away
Leaving these steps for another day...

About The Author
My writing doesn't follow any set genre, it's interdependent of my mood and all that's taking place in life. I'm still finding myself, what I write constitutes the markers along the path of that journey. With time, many things will manifest in my work and perhaps I will pursue one or two genres. For now, it's not, "What type of writing is my passion?" "Writing is my passion."
