Shadows and Light
Shadows stretch and lengthen,
dark pools clinging to the edges of things.
They deepen spaces,
a counterpoint to the world's sharp brilliance.
Light dances,
a sparkling drape on cobblestones,
a shimmering veil over quiet waters.
It warms, it reveals, it bathes the soul.
Where light falls, shadows must follow,
an echo inseparable.
We are born of both –
the stark contrasts,
the subtle shades in between.
Shadows offer respite,
a cool sanctuary in the blaze of day.
They hold whispered secrets,
unveiled only by the softest luminescence.
Light and shadow,
an eternal waltz.
One cannot exist without the other,
a delicate, dazzling balance.
