A Poem :: Memories in Faded Print
Memories in Faded Print
Leather's scent and bittersweet refrain,
Vanilla whispers, joy mixed with pain.
Gerard's touch, where childhood echoes lie,
Mischief in his glance, jam on cheeks so high.
Shampoo battles, mother's love so bright,
Chubby cheeks defiant, small warrior in the night.
Pages flicker, graduation's hopeful gleam,
Father's eyes reflected, part of a shared dream.
"Would he be proud?" a question in the air,
Mother's warmth dispels a son's despair.
Birthdays blend, then Sarah's radiant face,
Love's loss echoes in an empty space.
A phantom whisper, "Chin up, live with might,"
Mother's strength directs him toward the light.
Album closes, fragile hope takes root,
The past a guiding star, urging him to shoot.
