A Poem :: Small Town Bloom
New streets beneath my feet, unknown,
Faces turned, a curiosity grown.
The whispers here are soft and slow,
Like secrets only small towns know.
The market square, a timeworn heart,
Where weathered hands sell practiced art.
Church bells toll with ancient grace,
Marking time in this quiet place.
Strangers' smiles, a cautious light,
Hesitant warmth on star-strewn night.
Tales they tell on worn front porches,
Of histories etched in whispering torches.
My roots seek purchase, shy and slight,
In soil both strange and bathed in light.
Perhaps with time, my branches rise,
And I, too, bloom 'neath small-town skies.
