A Poem :: Girl Beyond the Resume
Suit well-pressed, my heart in overdrive,
I brave the lobby, where ambitions thrive.
The elevator's hum, a nervous beat,
Eyes assess me, futures incomplete.
Questions probe, and flaws they seek,
My practiced answers start to leak.
Then chaos strikes, a curveball in the air,
The Wi-Fi dies, and with it, my despair.
Fingers fly, my keyboard is my sword,
I fight the panic, find a spoken word.
The storm reveals a strength they hadn't sought,
The room approves, a subtle battle fought.
For obstacles ignite a hidden flame,
In struggle born, my spirit makes its claim.
I may not have the polish they desire,
But in the test, they saw a rising fire.
