Love's Empty Room
Love's Empty Room
Sonnet
The world feels dimmed, a stage devoid of light,
Since you, my love, have chosen to depart.
Each empty room echoes with sounds of night,
A hollow space where once beat your warm heart.
The laughter shared, the whispers soft and low,
The tangled sheets where dreams took flight together,
These memories, like embers, faintly glow,
And fan the flames of longing for fair weather.
I know, perhaps, some foolish word or deed
Has caused this rift, this silence cold and vast.
Forgive me, love, if pride made me mislead,
For pride's a wall that love cannot hold fast.
So let me mend the bridges I have burned,
And win you back, a love that's truly earned.
