A Poem :: Adobo's Song
Vinegar whispers secrets to the soy sauce bath,
a dark, mysterious pool where chicken waits.
Garlic sizzles, a tiny orchestra warming the stage,
releasing its pungent perfume, a culinary serenade.
Peppercorns crackle, tiny black pearls bursting with heat,
a fiery undercurrent to the savory beat.
Bay leaves unfurl, releasing herbal sighs,
a fragrant blanket beneath the simmering skies.
The chicken glistens, a bronzed warrior in its prime,
bathed in the adobo's embrace, transcending time.
Spoon clatters against the pot, a rhythmic dance,
checking the depth of the sauce, a culinary trance.
Patience, a key ingredient, the aroma fills the air,
a symphony of anticipation, a promise to share.
The kitchen, a haven, transformed by this ancient art,
a legacy of flavor, each bite warming the heart.
Finally, the moment arrives, the lid lifts with a sigh,
steam curls heavenward, a culinary lullaby.
For in this pot of adobo, a story unfolds,
of heritage, comfort, and a love that's never cold.
