Favorite Thanksgiving Memories
Prompt: Write about your favorite Thanksgiving memories for your entry today.

When I was fourteen and lived at my grandparents when Dad was in Vietnam, we had a Thanksgiving meal. I wore a red pants suit and my my mother let me have a small glass of wine. I felt grown up.

When Dad wasn't in Vietnam, we lived in Tennessee and Arkansas. Dad used to cook the meals and they were good.

In Arkansas, my friend bought me a vinyl yellow dig and purple Smiley Toy. I was sixteen. I bought my friend cologne later on.

The meals were always good. I loved being with my grandparents. I didn't always get along with Dad but we had good times and we were in a good place years before he died.

My husband and I had Thanksgiving with my son, his wife and my mother last year. My son lives in Oregon and was home for Dad's funeral. I am glad I got to be with my son.

My husband and I will be having Thanksgiving dinner together tomorrow. My mother is in Oregon.

I have good memories of the meals, being with my parents and grandparents. My aunt and uncle and cousins were there.

I enjoy Christmas more but being with the people we love is always nice. As we grow older, we lose family members, each memory is a treasure.
