Fox, Omen, Signs
Prompt: Six weeks before Covid, I saw a fox by the Bucket Factory on the other side of the railroad tracks. We don't have many foxes in our area since they were hunted sixty years ago. Was my seeing a fox an omen of bad things to come? Write about signs and symbols that could mean something bad is about to happen.
Seeing that fox was something. We do have foxes left in our are. Mom and Dad had one in their pole barn but he didn't stay long. Mom saw six crows on a wood pile before I had my bowel obstruction surgery. I was on a breathing tube for six days afterward and almost died. Was this a bad sign about the six crows sitting on a wood pile? Were they an omen?
Two weeks before my house burned down, there was a star over my house every night surrounded by a green mist. Too freaky. It was also two weeks before Christmas. I hate when I see strange symbols. I see a crow and ask is he sending a message? I haven't seen any foxes but was he trying to tell me something that day?
Sometimes, I see something strange like a lot of birds by my house. A goat running across my yard but nothing bad happened. Like where Al Capone came to my county years ago to bury dead bodies on a deserted country road. You drive past there at night and you see mists and shadows. Nothing bad happened to me the three times I drove down that way unless you count getting lost.
I saw a falling star that was blue and green and nothing happened. We never know.
I always think of that fox. If I see one again, I will wonder if it means something bad will happen. I love foxes but I want to see one because he is bringing good news. Before we moved into our first house in the country, there was a cute fox running around. We built our house and it burned down nine years later. The fox? I don't know. It was nine years later.
Signs and symbols. When things look strange, beware! I do anyway!
