The Leprechaun's Loss
A sly old fox, with eyes so bright,
Spied a glint in fading light,
A pot of gold, 'neath rainbow's end,
A treasure trove he must defend.
The badger grumbled, grumpy heart,
"A lucky find, a brand new start!"
But as they bickered, fierce and strong,
A magpie swooped, with thieving song.
Up and up, with wings so fleet,
The coins they shimmered, oh so sweet.
The fox and badger, left in dust,
Their hopes and dreams now turned to rust.
The magpie's nest, a glittering hoard,
A fortune won without a word.
The pot of gold, a tale now old,
Of creatures bold, and riches untold.
