Rain's Test on Flowers
Rain's Test on Flowers

A single drop descends from skies so gray,
A crystal tear on petals soft to rest,
It shimmers in the dawn's uncertain ray.

Another falls, then more begin their quest,
Like silver beads upon a silken thread,
A rhythm tapped with urgency unblessed.

Flowers bend beneath the watery tread,
Their vibrant hues by fleeting moments dimmed,
A fragile world by sudden showers led.

The petals weep as if their spirits brimmed,
With weight they did not ask, nor wish to bear,
Each jeweled drop feels like a world condemned.

But as the storm-clouds part and light grows fair,
The flowers lift, with rainbows in their gleams,
Transformed by rain, they paint the freshened air.

Though battered briefly by the torrent's streams,
The raindrops were a test, not cruel extremes.
