Fantasy and Fairytales Prompt 23, A Dragon and His Horde
Blaze was a green and blue dragon and he loved his horde of treasures. Pearls, turquoise stones, blue topaz, emeralds, rubies, gold pieces, silver necklaces. He lived in a cave and these treasures were all his. He had taken them from pirates. Blaze didn't like pirates. They were mean and hurt humans and creatures, too, he was sure. He slept on his treasures. He felt comfortable and happy. One day, he realized he was bored. There were no other dragons. He had no friends. His treasure. His horde. He would go out and search for food. Goblins. He loved eating them. He didn't eat wolves or fairies. He ate berries and lizards. Something was missing in his life. He would give up all his horde of treasures for a dragon friend. Where do you find other dragons?

Blaze left his cave and went into the woods. He walked for miles. He was lost. Now what? He heard a female voice. He was scared. A human! They could harm him. He froze. He saw a pretty red headed woman. She looked at Blaze. She was scared. Rachael was a child of the forest and she was talking to the squirrels but the squirrels left as soon as they saw the dragon. Rachael wore a faded blue dress and was a wood cutter's daughter. She looked at the dragon.

"Are you a dragon?" she asked.

Blaze looked at her. Her voice was so sweet. He never talked but was surprised to find out that he could talk.

"I am Blaze. You are a human girl"

"Yes. I am a wood cutter's daughter."

"So, you are not a Princess?"

Rachael laughed. "No. I am poor. A child of the forest."

Blaze had a thought. He would give her his horde. Just then he heard a swirling sound above him. A female dragon was flying overhead! She was all green.

The dragon landed and Blaze and her looked at each other. He was in love. The dragons rubbed against each other.

"I am Ariana. Who are you?"

"Blaze. Will you stay with me forever? I have my own cave."

"Yes. I have a cave, too but I have been so lonely."

Rachael looked at them. Blaze looked at Rachael.

"I will be back." Blaze left with Ariana and went to his cave. Ariana saw his horde of treasures.

"Where did you get all this do?"

"Pirates. They are mean and steal things. I was lonely and bored with this treasure. I want to give half to Rachael, the Child Of The Forest. She is poor and pretty for a human."

"She is. Okay. Let's take half of this to the girl and we keep the other half."

Blaze and Ariana took half of the treasure to Rachael. She cried and hugged them both. Rachael and her parents sold the treasure and got a nice house and moved to a town where they were accepted. Rachael married a Prince. Blaze and Ariana were happy and had baby dragons. They kept their treasure. They were happy they helped Rachael and had found each other.
