A Poem :: More than Meets the Eye
An ugly lad with burdened heart,
A face unseen, where love can't start.
A wand of change, a wish so deep,
To steal a glance, a love to keep.
Transformed and bright, he takes the stage,
Handsome guise, a fleeting rage.
Zeph's eyes alight, a spark so rare,
But beauty born of wish, can't snare.
Time ticks away, the spell undone,
Truth revealed 'neath the setting sun.
A fear-filled heart, a whispered plea,
"I wished for change, that you might see."
But Zeph's laughter, sweet and clear,
"Your looks were blind, my love was near.
Your kindness shines, a guiding star,
More precious than the change you are."
The wand of magic, tossed aside,
True beauty blooms in love's own tide.
For Zeph did see, with eyes so true,
The heart of Windell, shining through.
