Stolen
Prompt: A story involving a crime – murder, robbery (theft) or embezzlement. Word Count: 100.
"Ok, who stole my lunch?" Sargent McConnell stood, arms folded, grimly surveying the break room where his fellow officers were gathered.
"It wasn't me!" Officer Gordon mumbled, his mouth full of donuts.
"I have better things to do than eat other people's lunches," Detective Lee declared. "Has anyone fed the K-9s yet?"
She went over to the corner where K-9 Officer Checkers was sitting at attention, tail wagging.
"Is that a Ziploc bag in your mouth, boy?"
It was. Upon closer examination, it still had a crust or two of bread inside.
"I think Checkers really enjoyed your lunch, McConnell."
