Pete’s Pizza
Pete dusted flour off his hands, staring despondently at his cluttered larder shelves.

"How did I forget tomato sauce? I can't make a prizewinning pizza without it!"

He pushed aside spice jars, baking soda, and accumulated cooking accoutrements, searching for a possible substitute.

He found a gigantic family size container of chocolate sprinkles, dust layered on the lid.

"It's so crazy it might work!"

***

Crowds gathered around Pete's Chocolate Sauce Veggie Pizza at the festival.

"Ingenious!"

"Yum!"

"Mom, can we make one at home?"

The judge waved a blue ribbon.

"Pete displayed prizewinning creativity!"

Sometimes it pays to be forgetful.
