Unbalanced
In a silent Zen grotto
Overlooking mirrored waters
I sit surrounded by peace
Yet my mind is ill at ease.
Green new growth
Brown mother earth—
My heart full of unrest
Can't shake what festers
Within.
Wherever I go, I'm still myself.
Problems drain me,
Gnawing away
Night and day:
Why did I do that?
Who can I trust?
Is sorry enough?
Can I face them again?
If I could stay forever
In this quiet natural space
Perhaps I'd find
Some peace of mind
A balance of Zen
Without and within.
