Restoration
You hosed down my dirty heart
And hung it out to dry;
I didn't think I had a chance
You encouraged me to try.
You rescued me, a fledgling
And set me free to fly;
My wings spread wide in open air
Sailing through the starry sky.
You sewed up my ragged soul
And made it good as new;
Love's too small a word to call it—
I'm myself because of you.
12 lines, 72 words, ABCB rhyme,
7-6-8-7 syllables.
