Tortured
It seems I have a hiatal hernia or something similar. It's been a minor problem up until last Saturday when it flared up. I ate about half my dinner, then it struck; I couldn't get the food to go down. Since then, I've tried eating different things that should be easy to swallow, but no luck with anything other than liquids. I take a bite, I chew it until there's nothing to get stuck, but it doesn't enter the stomach, and after a period of discomfort, it's forced back up. So, it's been oatmeal water, Ensure, some milk, etc.... So, as you can guess, I'm extremely hungry. With my hunger constantly gnawing at me; everywhere I look, all these yummy-looking foods are advertised. Tomorrow I get to see a doctor, and hopefully can get something to help out. I'm sure it will require an endoscopy, which will have to be scheduled, meaning more waiting, but I'm hoping there's something that can be done sooner so I can at least eat again. It's not that I don't have some reserves to burn off; it's just that I enjoy good food, and now everywhere I look, there are pictures of food, or someone talking about food. It's torture. In the meantime, I'm trying to find more sources of nutrition I can drink. |

About The Author
My writing doesn't follow any set genre, it's interdependent of my mood and all that's taking place in life. I'm still finding myself, what I write constitutes the markers along the path of that journey. With time, many things will manifest in my work and perhaps I will pursue one or two genres. For now, it's not, "What type of writing is my passion?"
"Writing is my passion."
