Cemetery Decorations
I was driving by the cemetery the other day and I saw a black headed doll in a pink dress in an individual doll case propped on a pole by a child's grave. There have also been teddy bears and porcelain angels and lambs placed by grave sites. I feel sad when I see these items. Balloons on people's birthdays{the departed} along with flowers have been placed on the grave sites. Of course, there are always flowers on the graves. My grandparents, in-laws and some distant cousins are also buried there. There are even old Civil War headstones and gravestones that are so fragile that some have broken off. I had relatives who fought in the Civil War but they would have been great, great, great, well too many greats and a long way back. It is interesting to see those old Civil War headstones.

Years ago, I heard a child was buried with her Chatty Cathy Doll. For some reason, the child's grave site was dug up and the doll was stolen! How cruel is that? This happened in Washington State, I think. People used to steal items off the grave I was talking about but now they have security videos, with blue light cameras and red light cameras on at night. My grandparents flowers were always being stolen off the graves. How low is that to steal from dead people? These people are cruel. The doll caught my eye the other day and I felt sad but maybe the child who once was can be happy that she isn't forgotten. I do believe in life after death.
