Greetings from the Cesspool
"The Internet is a cesspool," said Sen. Mike Friend of Omaha, who introduced the bill (LB142) at the attorney general's request.

This is Wrong on so many levels I don't know where to start. Let's go with the obvious: There are already anti-spam laws in existence, and yet the people sending spam are never caught, never prosecuted, and they just keep sending spam. So now, spammers are going to continue to be free to go about their business ("People who send unsolicited junk e-mails could also be prosecuted, Friend said, although it would be difficult to find the senders and pin the crimes on them.") - but they'll sure as shit find ME if I happen to run across a hot naked chick on the internet, and want to share her image with my friend, and I could go to jail?

What the fuck is wrong with people?

Oh, but that's not all. No, of course not. It's all gone Wrong:

After serving a year in Iraq, Army Reserve Spc. Patrick Rogalin came home and found that everything he had put in a storage locker — essentially everything he owned — had been sold.

Now, it's no secret that I've been opposed to the police action in Iraq since the get-go. More, all of my reasons for being opposed to it have turned out to be valid: 1)Iraq was unconnected to 9/11; 2)There were no WMDs in Iraq; 3)Whatever the level of terrorist activity in Iraq before the "war," it would increase after the area was destabilized... I could go on.

Still.

If I owned a storage facility, and I knew the person renting it was in the military (serving in Iraq or anywhere), I would move hell and earth to ensure he or she had a place to keep stuff until they got back - not slavishly follow collections policies.

On a lighter note - well, no, not really; it's still Wrong. But please, for the sake of all that is good and right, never, ever let this person see my blog header:
