About This Author
A changeling spirit,
constantly evolving,
revolving around an inner core,
spinning forth legend and lore,
stories and lives
as I come to grips
with who and what I am,
have been and may be.
I am a phoenix:
rising ever above and beyond!

Saving Time

*************************************************************

The blurb on the late night TV says
Save time with our product-- hurry, don’t wait!
But my question is, where is the bank
And what’s the current interest rate?

If I save time using gadgets
So I have time for other stuff,
How come it seems to seep away
And I still don’t have half enough?

I can’t put it in a bank
I can’t put it in a jar
Can’t put it in my pocket
Or the glove box in my car.

I can’t mount it on the wall
Like a winning trophy buck,
Can’t stuff it in the basement
(I’d lose it for sure down there) –worse luck!

Can’t file it on the computer
Or hide it underneath the bed
Can’t sweep it under the hallway rug
Or store it in my head.

When I die
Do I get it then?
That saved time
To finally spend?

Do I get to stay another year,
A month or two with those held dear?
Would I have time to say a prayer?
Or say I love you, or shed a tear?

Or do I lose it
Every year
When daylight savings
Time comes near?

The heck with it,
Not good at saving things anyhow
So if I have some extra time
I think I’ll use it here and now.

I’ll spend more time writing
Being creative is what I do.
And spend some more time laughing
And spending time with you.

Perhaps I’ll take an extra nap
And play more with my pup,
But the best part of doing it this way
I’ll never use it up!
