Sunny!
Now that we're leaving, it's sunny out. Our subway fare cards are empty, and we're too cheap to buy individual fares to go anywhere. Haven't been outside yet, but maybe we'll wander up to Times Square before our train leaves, just to see it in the daytime - though it's much more interesting at night.
Mavis Moog  made a good point in a comment yesterday about shopping - I, too, prefer to do my shopping on the 'net. Less fuss, fewer impulse purchases, and it's a whole lot safer. I'll never understand why some people think it's more dangerous to shop on the internet - I guess those are folks who've never shopped in New York City, where people find the most interesting places to hide cash away from pickpockets.
That said, despite what you may have heard about big cities, you don't get mugged on street corners or held up in dark alleys here - unless, of course, you're stupid enough to wander down a dark alley in certain sections of town at 2 am. Still, you take precautions.
And while I like New York, I like the comfort of my computer chair even better. If there's one thing I bring back from this trip, it's a determination to do more shopping (what little I do, that is) on the Web. |
