Not used to this.
Not used to this "writing" stuff. I mean, sure, I write almost every day, but this is my first real attempt at something lengthy, consistent and meaningful.

Today, I realized that while near-future science fiction may be no harder than normal writing (you just take today's society and tweak a few techy things and use interesting characters) and far-future science fiction isn't much harder (just more time-consuming as you create a plausible "universe"), the time from a few years from now through maybe a couple centuries is tougher - you have to make some plausible extrapolations.

I mean, I've always kind of known this, but never tried it myself.

Well, nothing to it but to dive in, right? We'll see what happens.

But I fear that nothing - NOTHING - that I can possibly come up with would equal the sheer awesomeness of shooting velociraptors out of guns:

I mean... wow.
