Christmas 2008
Christmas 2008 was good at my house. I had my family over. My parents, my husband's step mother, my son Jason and his wife Erin, Erin's parents and my husband and I. We had a good dinner of meatballs, ham, barbecue beef, scalloped potatoes, cheese, crackers, chips, chicken salad, deviled eggs, macaroni salad, fudge and Dairy Queen Cake.
We played Christmas music. We opened gifts. I gave my son and his wife gift certificates as well as a Penguin Cookie Jar from Bath and Body. I got my son candles. He loves candles. I got my husband toy tractors which he collects. I got my mother-in-law a sweater, clothes for my father, and Erin's parents. I got my mother Elvis and Priscilla Barbie and Ken dolls plus a watch.
My Birthday is always so close to Christmas. I get extra gifts. I got a Barbie and Ken Vintage Cheerleader and Football Player Set, 2008 Holiday Barbie, lavender stone bracelet, 2 porcelain Teas Sheets, Thomas Kincaid Mug, That 70's Show DVD'S. Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty CD'S. I love the old country music. My sister got me a decorated light up Christmas present and a tea pot night light. My sister lives in Florida and sends me a package and I always send her one, too.
We always have a good time at Christmas. With the economy being like it was, we cut back on Christmas gifts. Christmas is about families getting together. I never see that much of my son and his wife during the year. Mom always a big turkey Christmas dinner and the family gets together again and the same on New Years. I am always thankful for the time I spend with my family.
