Why I Write
When I write, I draw on my experiences as a woman with a painful past, a rapturous wife and mother, a world traveler, and a spiritualist. For me, writing is an art form. Like an artist, the work becomes more than I imagined it would be. When I set out to write a story with a particular idea or character in mind, words I cannot claim as my own flow from a magical and mysterious place through me and onto paper. The work takes on a life of its own; it is living art. The process fascinates me, satiates me, and makes my life more meaningful. Please read my stories! Day 6 - (Bud)ding Love
A yellow rose with a red tip symbolizes friendship, and falling in love.

For day 6, I'll leave it up to the writer. Do you have a true story about friends falling in love? Does the yellow rose with a red tip inspire you to write a poem or story? Did you always keep your true romantic feelings for one of your friends a secret, and would like to share it in a blog? Anything goes, as long as it follows the prompt. Just have fun!

Jack Frost Squash
Plucked Wild Child Daffodil
and stuck her
in his lapel
Together afloat
Two friends so close
Across gorgeous flat-bottomed oceans
Balmy sea air and blue reef tea
Intoxicating mix
Jack kissed Daf ‘til her petals laughed
And she blossomed
Into a
Caribbean Sunset
