About This Author
I am a 40 year old married mother of two teenage boys. I live for writing, especially romance. Love the happily ever after scenerio. The best thing about writing for me is the ability to lose yourself in your work, and feel as if you've accomplished something great. At the end of the day, that's all that really matters.
The Waiting Game

Delayed
Had planned on updating yesterday, but blah, just didn't feel like it.

So, we get to the airport, check in, flight is delayed two hours. Grab a snack, head to waiting area, and are told our flight will not leave until 9:45pm, if that. 20 minutes later, they announce that our flight is canceled and we have to reclaim our bags. 8 bags!! Each weighing close to 50 lbs. Mother Scratchers!!!

Hubby and kids go to get the bags, I wait in line to try and change up our flights. And if you think for one second the check in line take FOREVER, try being the in line I was in. 10 people back. We reach the counter where we were for an hour - easily. Why? No flights to Lebanon. Every flight was booked solid. Then there was the issue with Royal Jordanian not releasing our seats so we could get our tickets printed for today. That took an easy 30 minutes of the AA woman to call every known number trying to get RJ to boot us off the flight. Nightmare

Then I hear of a woman - someone we know - who left her kids in charge of the luggage, and had her carry-on stolen. Of course I had to call down to the boys and make sure all 13 bags they had were accounted for, which they were. Still I was a bit freaked out by that.

Flying out tonight. Detroit - Paris - Beirut, a much better route, and airlines. Less wait time as well in the airport. We are one of the lucky ones. We got the last flight on Saturday. They rest started booking for Sunday and Monday. To accomdate all those people will probably take a week I imagen.

The storms that shut down O'Hare hit here as we left the airport last night. Massive thunder, lightening, rain - my backyard is flooded. Guess it wasn't a good day to fly afterall. *Laugh*

Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well, please. I need some good vibes.....LMAO
