Saturday
Keith's boss brought over a 15-pound Honeybaked ham! ...along with pasta salad, potato salad, rolls, fruit, pastries, and mini muffins. We ate some, but we're taking it over to Keith's mom's to serve between the viewings tomorrow.
I need a bean soup recipe. That's a huge freaking ham with a big-ass bone. (That's what she said. )
Post at Advice for Business Managers once per weekday.
Goal met.
Post at MichelleTuesday.com at least once per week.
Goal met, and I plugged at Facebook.
Write one Textbroker article per weekday.
It's due Monday, so either I write it tomorrow afternoon, or I let it go. Actually, I need to write five articles tomorrow afternoon since I slacked all week. {e:sternlook}
Meet other writing goals.
MochaNotes.com list: I checked Adsense every five minutes (I'm not obsessing, I swear!) Readership is down to its pre-advertising levels.
Launch one new performance repertoire song per week.
Goal met: "You've Got a Friend"
Write one new original song per month.
Goal met: Hey, Baby
Brand the biz(es.)
Goal met. Been workin' on the websites again. Eventually, I'll need to create a brochure (or several) for the school and one (or several) for my performance biz. Someone gave me a tip to produce a media pack: A brochure with a demo CD and/or DVD tucked in. Great idea! You'd think I would have the time, now that I'm less employed.
15 minutes of small biz research per day.
Goal met. I drove by the location of yet another competitor in Pickerington, where 88 Keys is located. Four music education establishments already grace this lovely town in which I live: 88 Keys, my former employer; Rock Factory, started by two teachers who left 88 Keys and sued Molly, the owner of 88 Keys (they lost, and they are violating their non-compete contract, but apparently there isn't much she can do to shut them down); Music, Movement & Me (who specializes in younger children, and whose owner, Janet, is a Reale sweetie); and Mid-Ohio Music, formerly Lang Music, who just moved from another location closer to Columbus. Lang is very, very well-known on the east side of Columbus and might be a formidable competitor for the other three. I stopped in to chat with them a couple nights ago. Nice guys.
It's not a problem for me, because I'm opening in Gahanna, which boasts only one other formal music school, and which serves several affluent communities with high family densities. But if I ever want to expand and open a shop in my hometown, say, after my non-compete agreement expires, the new boys in town might deter me.
Perform one household chore per day.
Goal met. I made breakfast, took out the trash, put away the dishes.
Achieve a weight of 145.0 by 6/1/10.

Meals:
Um... ham. And mini muffins, and cream puffs, and ham. And coffee. |
