Halloween Poem
Halloween night. A chill in the air and it was gloomy.
I stepped outside wearing my vampire costume.
A long black silk dress, with a high neck line all done in red.
Fake fangs in place. Long red fingernails. Yes! I looked scary.
A broken white pumpkin. That sucks! Don't people-
understand white pumpkins are hard to find this year.
Little kids dressed like angels, pirates, princesses and
two boys dressed like vampires. They sure are cute.
The two little vampires bowed and called me their Queen.
I showed them my fake fangs and smiled. Some kids screamed.
I was headed to a Halloween party and taking my time.
If I rode in a bubble, I wouldn't walk any faster.
A teen-age boy with fake blood on his face and a hatchet in his back.
He bowed and called me Mother Vampire. I laughed.
I am here at the house where the Halloween party is.
Everyone loves my costume and sexy Derek is here.
I dance with Derek who is dressed like a vampire as well.
It is starting to rain but no one cares except for Trick-er-Treaters.
I eat pumpkin cupcakes and drink apple cider. The apple cider is gross!
Derek and I leave the party and will do what vampires do best.
I won't say what vampires do best because we aren't really vampires.
Derek and I go his house and his mother is there dressed like a witch.
I swear she is really a witch. She looks and acts like one.
She flies away on her broomstick and Derek and I have the house to ourselves.
The clock strikes twelve. I feel like Cinderella and Derek and I kiss.
I am under a spell. The spell of love. Maybe his mother cast it.
It has stopped raining and I had a good Halloween.
Derek and I have decided to get married next Halloween.
It is time for us vampires to say good night.
Wishing you a Happy Halloween, a great autumn
and hopefully winter will be kind and not so cold.
Halloween, autumn and Derek. Life is good.
