Reading Maps
Prompt: Today's prompt is reading maps since it is National Geographic Week. Why do people having problems reading maps? How can they improve their skills?
I have always had problems reading maps. The print is so small and even my glasses don't help that much. All those roads, little signs, well just try to find them in the big picture and the open road! It is confusing! I have never been good at geography. I was always bored. There are a few countries that I am interested in and I can find them on a globe or a map. So maybe people are like me and have problems reading a map. When my husband and I take a trip, he uses a highlighter so I can see on the map where we are going. Teachers need to spend more time teaching kids to read a map in school. There is probably web pages that show you how to read a map, too. Is there a class Map Reading 101?
