Winter Olympics In France Jan. 25, 1924
Prompt: On Jan. 25, 1924, the first Winter Olympics were held in Chamonia, France. How many countries do you believe compete? What events were held? Did your favorite events exist then?

I goggled this one. 16 countries competed. Great Britain won the most medals. 44. The US got 24. There was: Bobsleighing, Ice hockey, Figure skating, Cross Country Skiing, Ski Jumping and Curling just to name a few. I thought Curling was a made up event on "The Simpsons" but I learned that it was real. I like curling. I love figure skating. It is so neat how couples and a solo person dances on the ice. I enjoy Snowboarding. I can't wait to see Shaun White and his smiling face and he never misses a beat or should I say motion? On a personal note, with all the snow we are getting, I may be able to do curling and snowboarding in my back yard! Here's to a great year at the Olympics!
