Not Immortal
Prompt: At what age did you realize that you were not immortal?

As a child, I thought I was a Princess and would pretend a lot. I never thought of myself as immortal. I knew I couldn't fly a broomstick like a witch or fly like Superman. When I started watching the original "Dark Shadows" series, I knew I wasn't a vampire like Barnabas, a witch like Angelique, a werewolf or a ghost. As an adult, we know immortals don't exist but it is fun to watch "Twilight" and other related shows and read books about immortals.

I was mad at a teacher once and I took a piece of yarn and wrapped it around a crochet's doll's neck and threw it in my dresser draw. {Angelique did this on "Dark Shadows" and I thought that I would try it.} I went to school the next day, that teacher had the flu. I just knew that I had done this! I was twelve. I got home from school, took the yarn off the doll's neck and the teacher was better two days later and back at school. At twelve, I found out that I wasn't immortal! Maybe I should say it was just a fluke. We are just human. This is not a bad thing.
