Flash Backs, My Culture and World
Blog City Prompt: Do you use Flash Backs or Flash Forwards in your fictional and true stories?

I have used flash backs or past memories of the main character to tell a story. My true stories, I tell the story as I go. I don't like to give anything away. I want my readers to be surprised as I am. I feel flash backs are important so the reader and me can understand what is going on at the moment. I like flash backs and flash forwards,

Welcome To My Reality Prompt: What is life like in your world and culture?

I live in Indiana in a small farm town. We have bad weather in the winter. There are quite a few farmers. Summers are nice around here. People go camping, fishing and like to go to Lake Michigan. I love Lake Michigan. It reminds me of the ocean.

There are festivals, Indy car races{I have never been to one}, concerts {I saw Alice Cooper twice} and we live two hours from Chicago and we have a big mall near by. There is also Valparaiso and it is considered a wealthy town {I guess it is almost a city}.

We get bad snow storms. People in our town have snow mobiles and snow plows clear off the snow. If they didn't, we wouldn't go anywhere.

We have an Amish town an hour away. There are horse and buggies and people live like they did 150 years ago. In a modern world, I don't know how they manage. They do cook the best dinners and I love their food. They make beautiful quilts and crafts.

A small town that is ten minutes away, people came from Kentucky. It reminds me of Duck Dynasty. Enough said.

Another small town called Plymouth, the basketball team is called The Pilgrims. We have a small mall called Pilgrim Place. They have a big gold rock called Plymouth Rock. When you see the Amish who live twenty minutes away, they remind you of Pilgrims!

My town I live in. Have you ever watched "Green Aces?" Life in my town reminds me of this TV Show. We had a Grocery Store at one time that reminds me of Druckers Store. Some of the farmers remind me of the characters of the show. We own a farm called "Green Acres"! There aren't any pigs like Arnold that are that smart but we do have pigs. Trains do pass through town. I work at a mental health facility called Shady Rest so we do have a Shady Rest!

This is what life is like around here.
