Any aspiring group leaders out there?
Any aspiring group leaders out there?

As many of you know, I run several groups and activities on Writing.Com... and although I frequently make use of the editorial "we" when promoting my groups and activities, the honest truth is that it's mostly just me (with the occasional help of some very kind and dear friends). My groups don't have multiple leaders to manage the workload, and that often means things getting delayed until I can find time in my schedule to get to them. If 2014 has shown me anything, though, it's that my online time isn't as plentiful as it once was, and the state of most of my groups reflects that in belated contest rounds, delayed newsletters and articles, etc.

In short, I desperately need some help. There are two groups in particular I want to focus on:

Unofficial Erotica Newsletter Group. I inherited this group almost five years ago and - in that time - have published over 100 newsletters, run more than a dozen contests/activities/fundraisers, and tried to promote and support the WdC erotica community as a whole. Recently, however, many of the group features I've tried to implement (review credits, active forum participation, special events, regular contests, etc.) have fallen by the wayside as I haven't had the time to manage them by myself. Additionally, I seem to only be able to put out a UEN once every couple of months, which is too long between issues.

The Dark Society. I inherited this group about five years ago as well and - in that time - I've unfortunately had less success. I've run a couple one-off activities here and there, but the only currently active offering from this group is the "Sinister Stories Contest, which only gets a few (if any) entries every month. The forum and review credits have both fallen by the wayside as I haven't had time to manage them by myself.

I still feel very passionately that horror and particularly erotica are underserved genres in the marketplace and I want these groups to not just limp along, but to flourish and be places where genre enthusiasts can go to find all kinds of resources for their reading and writing endeavors.

I can't grow these groups without help, though. So if you're interested in taking on a leadership role for either group, I'd encourage you to please fill out my "Group Leader Application. I'm looking to bring one or more people on board each group as full-time staffers who will play an integral role in the group's management and activities. If you're interested in working with me to develop these genre groups, please fill out the application and let me know how you'd like to be involved. *Smile*

EDIT: P.S. I'm also looking for people to help out with the UENG and Dark Society because I really want to focus on my new community endeavor, "The Screenwriting Group. So don't despair, aspiring screenwriters! I didn't forget you and my hope is that getting help with the UENG and Dark Society will help you as much as it helps them; I plan on spending a lot more time developing the screenwriting community around here too! *Bigsmile*
