Still Waiting
Midnight's fist clenches my mind,
A battlefield where no peace I find.
Do I cling to what's lost, a fading star,
Or shatter the chains, though the wounds may scar?
Like ghosts, our moments haunt and gleam,
Sweet whispers, then tears that scald and stream.
These fragments of us, a bittersweet pyre,
Burn in my soul, a relentless fire.
A weight like stone upon my chest,
My spirit cries out, denied its rest.
How to face this path, where are you now?
The world spins on, but I know not how.
Your absence echoes, a haunting refrain,
That smile burns bright, then fades again.
One single image my heart enshrines –
You, radiant, where the altar shines.
