Down Home On The Farm
Prompt: You've been invited to a spring festival, celebrating farm fresh fruits, cheeses and meats. Why do you think food tastes better when it comes straight from a farm? Would you consider living on a farm? Why or why not?
I like green beans and peas fresh from the garden but I don't know if food fresh from a farm tastes better. My grandparents had a farm but Grandpa just farmed and grew a garden. He hadn't had cows and pigs for years or chickens. Eggs from chickens are fresh. I do love fresh eggs from the chicken. I love playing in soy beans after they were first combined. I drove an old case tractor just for fun. I live in farm country and my husband's family has a farm but someone else farms it. I don't want the responsibility of a farm. I am not much of a garden person. I buy my food at the store. If I was a farmer's wife, I would be like Lisa Douglas. My chickens and cows aren't for eating. I dress up and overalls aren't for me. Guess it comes from being raised in the military.
