Strawberries and Cream, Mother Goose, Alice in Wonderland
Prompt: Why are we conditioned into the smooth strawberries and cream, Mother Goose world, Alice in Wonderland fable, only to be broke on the wheel as we grow older and become aware of ourselves as individuals with a dull responsibility in life? Sylvia Plath

When we are children, we think life is all about Mother Goose, fairy tales, strawberries, cream and fun things. Unless a child is abused, they learn life is unkind. Most children just want to have fun and aren't aware of the bad things in life. When President Kennedy got killed, that put a damper on my fairy tale, Mother Goose life for awhile. I had seen the man in person and lived by Washington, D.C at the time. The time we get to Junior High, High School, have boyfriends and we can learn people aren't always nice. Children are supposed to be children, believe in Santa and fairy tales. We grow up, we mature. We live in reality and work at a job, get married, have children and responsibilities. If you are a millionaire, you own the world. Are they happy? We have to take charge of our lives and take care of ourselves. This happens at 18 and for some, a younger age. AS a writer, we can still enjoy Mother Goose, Alice in Wonderland and fantasy. WE are allowed. We can get back to our responsibilties later.
