Memories, Betrayl
BCOF Prompt: Old memories are very easy to get to except that you write about something you've destroyed in you no longer have the memory of what you've written. Annie Dillard Do you agree or disagree? Does this change how you think about using your memories as written material?

I wasn't sure if this is personal memories are what. I don't forget memories and I find it hard to write about painful ones but these stay in my personal journal and I discuss with friends. I love writing about happy memories. If I write a fiction story, I may include a memory to make it one of my character's memories. Come on. We all do it. If memories are good, I love using them in what I am writing. I can include a bad memory as well and make it my character's memory and keep the story flowing. Most memories I am thankful for. I wish I could delete bad memories like you delete things on a computer. Memories. Bring them on. I will find a way to write about them.

Blog City Prompt: Joy says betrayal can often be a profound surprise to the traitor herself. What do you think when using betrayal in fiction?

People in real life betray me and I have been surprised and hurt. In fiction and real life, betrayal can make you a different person or do things you didn't think that you were capable of. A character can be surprised at her own betrayal. Personal things, people and trying to get what you want out of life, can lead to betrayal. I try to forget it or just stay from people who betray me. This is where writing comes in. I can have a character do things in betrayal I don't have the nerve to do!
