Day 12 Give It A 100 Nurses Day
I try to keep the items in this book women related but I may write a different topic at times. I am trying to keep up with Give It 100 by writing in this journal everyday.

I used to love Nurses Day at the Nursing Home. We would have Nurses Week where we wore T-Shirts that would say: "Nurses Week. Nurses Care. Nurse Are Patient People. Love Your Nurse." We would have a Nurses Tea where Nurses would get service certificates, service pins, a pink carnation or red rose, special Awards would be passed out. We would get pins related to Nursing like a stephacope, Nurses Care, pill bottle or anything related to Nursing. WE would have cake and punch, get a balloon, mug and this day would be so special. I once got a special Best Employee Award from the one Nursing Home I worked at.

I don't work at a Nursing Home and I haven't in years. I work at a mental health facility. I miss Nurse Day. I did a pin once that says: "We care." I got a pin with a red stone in it that said 17 years. I got a Boyds Nurse Bear in scrubs and a special gold plated Nurses pin from friends and cards. Our boss doesn't give us anything and we don't have a special Nurses Tea. Yesterday was Nurse Day. I went to work last night and some Pharmacy Company dropped us some goodies for us. I got some sticky notes, ink pens and a tote bag that is black with a white cross on it, that says: "Scrubs on Wheels." This is a nice gift. It is nice to get a Nurses Day present. I miss working at Nursing Homes once a year. Nurse Day meant so much but not where I am at. I will be happy to carrying my new Nursing Tote. I am happy to receive something. I am special everyday!
