Picture On A Postcard, Mud
Blog City Prompt: Write about a picture on a postcard. Does it have special meaning for you?
I have a lot of postcards. I have a replica one of the "Titanic" but I would love to have the one Great Grandma had. She got it from a friend who went down on the "Titanic" but I don't know all the details. Wish I did. Mom has Great Grandma's items and still can't find the postcard. Maybe someday.
I have a post card of President Kennedy, Jackie, Caroline and Jon Jon. Dad was in the Air Force and we lived in Washington, DC and we saw JFK in person. He waved to the crowd. I can't believe he was shot. Caroline was eight years old like me. I felt so sorry for her. Dad saw Jackie getting off the plane after Air Force One landed when she came back from Texas. Dad was an airplane mechanic then. This post card has special meaning for me. It was a sad day. This post card is in my scrapbook. I will always cherish it.
BCOF Prompt: Snow says it is Mud Day and wants us to write about mud.
Mud. There was an old stove by the chicken coop at Grandma's. She gave me old cake pans. My cousin Melody and I would make wet mud cakes and put them in the oven. Course, the oven was non functioning and old. Two days later, it was back to dirt. We had perfectly shaped dirt cakes. I pretended the oven baked them. Frosting? We put the cakes back in the oven. Next rainy day, we had our mud frosting. I loved it.
