When you’re gone
my heart aches something fierce.
It’s hard to breathe, to function.
I waste time on menial tasks,
as if they could compensate
for the loneliness
that seeps into every fiber of my being.
I sit and wonder where you are,
if you’re safe, alright,
missing me.
Do you miss me?
When you’re here
my heart swells with such joy.
I can breathe again, focus.
Every minute is consumed with you,
sinking into your warm embrace,
as I melt beneath your exquisite touch.
You are home,
right where you belong
Do you love me?
For I love you
To the depths of the deepest ocean.
Around the universe and back.
From this lifetime to the next.
Through every parallel realm,
with every beat of my heart,
fraction of my mind,
body, and soul
