It's Not About You, Robot
Blog City Prompt: Joy said she remembered being a kid and in a conversation, the adult would say "It's not about you." She asked our response to this.
I hate hearing this expression. When a conversation is intense and I am part of this, it is about me! I want to have my say and the other person's view matters but I will express what happened and the situation. I heard that at work from my Boss and I would say: "We are here and I am involved, so this is about me." We would get the problem solved. When I was a kid, I had a bratty cousin who lived next door and caused issues and Grandma would take her side. When I got older, it was about me and Grandma understood later.
When I was with a kid, with my father, we argued a lot. I don't argue with my father anymore. He is getting old and I just want peace and love. It doesn't matter who it is about anymore. We are both mellowing.
BCOF Prompt: Lyn asked us what it would it be like if a robot was our perfect match.
Would he come with an income? I would need an income. It wouldn't cost anything to feed him. He would be smart and he could answer all my questions. Maybe he would like all the shows I would. I hope he would look like Johnny Depp or Chris Pratt. We could go places and laugh. He would never get upset. This would be nice. Where do I find one?
