Curse, Blessing
Prompt: Joy asked us about curses and blessings and if a curse could be a blessing.
A curse could be a blessing. After surviving extensive bowel surgery, being on a breathing tube for 6 days and learning to walk again, I wouldn't call it a blessing but I do pray more and am thankful and I did get back to normal. I was blessed by good nurses and doctors, family and God and Jesus. No one leads a charmed life because anything could happen.
I wanted to retire but when my job closed down, I was all anxious and had to adjust to a life of not working. I am going to collect social security next month and I am happy not working. I hated driving in bad weather and dealing with mentally ill people and staff. I think it is a blessing. I worked for 41 years. I may try a part time in a library later but for now, I am happy. Just wish my minor health problems would go away.
My dad and I were never close because he was in Viet Nam but after my health scars and his stroke, we reached a good place in our lives where we can get along. We never know where we will find a blessing.
