Hope Chest
Prompt: Write something about a hope chest.
I never had a Hope Chest in high school. I had friends who put sheets, blankets, crystal, table cloths in one. When I was engaged, I bought sheets, blankets and table clothes and left them at my husband, boyfriend Ray's place and put them in a closet in his spare bedroom. I out the bridal shower gifts there, too. I had bought plates and goblets that I put in his kitchen cupboards.
Twelve years ago at Christmas, Ray bought me a hope chest. It is pretty oak with decorative gold handles and has a cushioned seat you can sit on. My kitty sits on it on my printed comforter that looks like something out of a magazine I keep sheets, pillow cases and blankets in it. My husband bought me a Hope Chest. It sits at the end of our bed. Our bed is brass with flowers on the knobs on the frame. It looks very pretty. This is one gift I will always treasure.
A Hope Chest. We can put anything in our Hope Chest including dreams, hopes and memories. Hopefully, it won't end up like Pandora's Box!
