Elephant In The Room
Prompt: Elephant In The Room. What was your elephant in the room and how did you resolve it?
I hated when my Nursing Supervisor would work a shift when I came in. I always felt like something was on her mind. She would sometimes tell me and other times the staff would find out at a meeting or a memo on the board. Sometimes, I would go to her and tell her what had happened with an employee or a patient and get it resolved but a new problem always came along. I don't work anymore and it has been nice. No more elephants there. I love elephants but not those kind.
My son and his wife moved to Minnesota and he texts my mother or calls but not me. I may get a Happy Birthday or something. He came home to visit last week with his wife and we hugged and had a good visit. I asked him why he didn't text me or call. He said I didn't text or call him much. This needs to change. So, we are going to text and call each other once a week. Sending Christmas cards once a year isn't enough. He said he isn't mad at me and I wasn't mad at him. Got the elephant out of the room. I WON'T LET Non Communication between us happen again. I need him in my life. Elephants go away and not like the movie Elephant Walk!
