My Daughter and Crochet
My daughter was a typical teen,
Into internet, cosplay, and the like,
She didn't have much time for doing dishes,
Housework, yard work, or even her bike.
Until the day, despite her frown,
I called her over and sat her down,

I showed her how to crochet booties,
To give to local newborn babies,
She felt the love of giving gifts,
She even learned to crochet daisies.
She began to focus on things hand made,
She forgot the online games she played.

Her grades improved to finish school,
She married well, bought a home,
Though crochet she learned to think,
And teach a daughter of her own,
It's enough to make me shout out loud,
Of my daughter, I'm extremely proud!
