Why I Write
When I write, I draw on my experiences as a woman with a painful past, a rapturous wife and mother, a world traveler, and a spiritualist. For me, writing is an art form. Like an artist, the work becomes more than I imagined it would be. When I set out to write a story with a particular idea or character in mind, words I cannot claim as my own flow from a magical and mysterious place through me and onto paper. The work takes on a life of its own; it is living art. The process fascinates me, satiates me, and makes my life more meaningful.

Archive of TWIST Newsletters
Every month, I send a newsletter out to TWIST members. The newsies open with an informational or educational article on a topic about the craft of writing or WDC site features. The article is followed by lists of activities, contests, forums and groups which were either created by a teen writer or is geared toward teens. Basically, I scour the site for items of interest to teens that our young members may not stumble across on their own. It's all about sharing info, here at TWIST! In this collection, you'll find past copies of TWIST newsletters. The links may no longer be valid and contests may be closed, but the articles are worth reading. I hope you kick off your shoes, grab a cup of coffee or cold drink, and spend some time here. If you'd like to begin receiving monthly TWIST newsletters -- whether you are a teen writer or someone who supports teens -- please send me (NickiD89 ) an email and I'll add you right away. If you have a contest, activity, forum or group you'd like me to promote in a newsletter, just fill out this simple form: "TWIST Email Item Submission Form" Thanks for your interest in TWIST! Happy reading!
