I heard him in the early '70s in Brooklyn the first time.

How long have you lived in Beijing and Los Angeles? Are there better choices? There are China Towns everywhere. I think of two I've visited: Toronto and Lima. Ancient books are portable; ancient knowledge even more so.

Regardless, can you make the setting detailed enough so that it feels authentic?

Just thoughts.

Will China come to Wolf? Is the riddle worth solving? Is LA worth saving? Are the monsters the true heroes?

Just being contrary but turning things on their heads can be helpful.

The idea that old myths can be relived in modern times is so ... Chinese! Or Korean. Gumiho = nine-tailed fox. This kdrama is highly rated (8.4):

"My roommate is a fairy fox" isn't as well done, but... it made me watch BL genre drama:

You'll find the opening similar to what you describe in that history and reality meet. It's worth watching if you have the time. The music is a bit of an earworm, just so you know.

That is a great pic! But I have a question about his weakness. Is he too "thrusting" or too "trusting"? I mean, there's a little bit of a difference.

How to write a story

Plot: Once you find your premise, your setting, and characters, create a rough outline of the story.
Exposition: Set the scene and introduce the characters.
Inciting incident: Have something happen in the story to start the action.
Rising action: Continue the story, building excitement and suspense.
Climax: Include a moment that holds the most tension in the story.
Falling action: These are events that occur after the climax.
Resolution: Here, the character solves the main problem.
Denouement: This is the ending in which the characters resolve any remaining questions.

Too clumsy

An example of how clumsy I am: I wrote 35 entries to my poetry blog and thought I deleted one entry. So I purged that one entry, I thought. I purged the whole blog by mistake instead!

These are the moments you wished you weren't here but somewhere else. Breath in, breath out and start over. There is not much else to do. And keep away from that bin!
