About This Author

Hi there!

I'm a grandmother, a nursing educator, an avid knitter and an aspiring writer. I created this page for family and friends who expressed interest in reading my writing. It is mostly poetry with a few short stories sprinkled here and there .

The poem on this page is one my Mom favored. The collectible trinket is from a needlework picture of Longfellow's home she completed. Mom loved poetry and was an avid reader. She and my brother,Rasputin Author IconMail Icon, inspire me still.

I have a published form modification called the Rondel Grand Modified; it is located here:

Drop me a note by clicking on the "Contact Me" link above and let me know you stopped to visit.

Happy reading and write on!

Moments of Memories
There are moments with grandchildren that one wants to remember for they grow quicker, it seems, than your own children did. And you know that went by in the blink of a moment. This is a place to capture and preserve those written thoughts that hopefully they will look back on someday with a smile.

Small moments leave big memories

" Grams, Penn State just scored!" That important missive came from my 10 year old sports aficionado. He was comfortably cradled by my blue recliner and focused on the football game. From the kitchen I sprinted to see the replay. Inwardly smiling, I scanned the room and noted his Dad and his sister comfortably lounging, taking in their environment. All were waiting for lunch, which ranged from chili to waffles to sweet and sour chicken or some combination of all the choices. ... [Read more]
The momentum of flight

She is a pint sized dynamo. Tumbles of curls and big blue eyes. She watches the scoreboard. She WANTS those 9's to flash on the scoreboard. An accumulation of nine's tells her she has reached that magic number she has been striving for all through this competitive season, a 36. {embed:vimeo:245645624} Despite her young age, she is determined to master the vault. She runs like a child possessed; there is a new look of grit and determination on her face. She is focused. Foc... [Read more]

Football Fun
November 14, 2016 at 7:22pm
Since my grandson could grasp a ball, he has been throwing one and has been fascinated, in particular, with football and soccer. I know about football; soccer- not so much. I have thrown passes for him since he was two, played touch football with him in his yard and showed him how to tuck the football, to guard it close to him when running. I've dodged and evaded and showed him how to use his feet to outsmart and hopefully outrun his Grams. Of course, as he has grown, his Dad has expanded... [Read more]

"We sing poems too"
November 12, 2016 at 12:15pm
An early entry to entitled was penned in remembrance of my birthday and our family Russian Christmas celebration. This excerpt is from that entry. "For me, though, two events were more heartwarming than all others before. The first involved getting Brady's little computer running and seeing the look on his face when he saw the big screen and recognized the Scratch program. He ran upstairs to bring his Dad and Mom downstairs for a look at "my computer!". The little 5 g... [Read more]
