My mother died of lung cancer
no one could answer her disease
it matters to me to pause
and back a cause to find a cure.

My friend's father had a stroke
no one could answer his disease
it matters to my friend to pause
and back a cause to find a cure.

Stroke matters to my friend
as lung cancer matters to me
together we live among the others
sisters brothers dads mothers.

If what matters to me is different
than the things that matter to you
you'd be wrong to think I don't care
because, believe me brother, I do.

A man was imprisoned behind a fence,
surrounded by an intense cloud
that smelled of dry cleaner fluid.
His anger and frustration grew daily
and was hurtful enough
to make death seem attractive.
When he was finally granted freedom,
he was disappointed to see that the world
was no different than his old trap.

Without walls, there is no hope of escape.
