About This Author
Well, hello. I’m still testing this.

Music Notes
A simple music themed blog for Jeff’s "Invalid Item" challenge, and also to dump my thoughts about the 48 Hour Media Challenges when I don’t feel like creating a story or poem from the provided material. I may also add random poetry in here if I feel like it doesn’t qualify for a separate item.

I'm so tired of Taylor Swift. So I'm just writing a blog post/random loose poem for this challenge "Note:
48-HOUR CHALLENGE : Media Prompt
Deadl..."
It may or may not bear any resemblance to her song, which I won't comment on specifically because I just don't care for it and I wouldn't listen to it but I'm trying to be polite and objective and I'm quite busy with Jeff's Music Anthology project... Whatever.
Two weeks, also known as
A fortnight - no, not the video game.
Two weeks we had together
Before you vanished
Into thin air.
Your ghost lingers
In my fading memories
Where did you go?
Did you forget me?
The pain of your loss
Of not knowing
Of abandonment and heartache
But maybe it's not your fault
And your fidelity may not be in question
If only your case wasn't cold
The detective laughs and tells me
You're in Florida with someone new
But there's no proof.
Kidnapping, affair, amnesia or new life?
I don't know what I don't know
And it hurts.
Two weeks we had together
A fortnight... No, not the video game.

Prismatic ribbons of sunlight
Ripple through pale green leaves
New growth on old trees
Softly, delicately dangling
Against crusty bark.
A breeze ruffles my curtains
As I willingly admit the fresh air.
Robins stake their claims
On lawns wet with shimmering dew
A squirrel lands on my roof
With an alarming thump!
And the pattering of little feet
As he scoots down the slope
Like it's a playground slide
Renewal surrounds me
And I feel the energy of life's endless cycle
Coming back around again
After a long white nap.
I, too, am renewing
Reevaluating my paths
Striving to attain an upward spiral.
Rather than sliding down
Into a whiteout of oblivion
And staying there
I choose to survive
And thrive
Stepping forward from dormancy
Into a green new world.
Free verse, 28 lines.
